5 Breath Meditation
This is a five breath meditative exercise designed to help you center and ground yourself at any time.
To try this exercise you will need a place to stand. You can do this in a quiet room or outside to give yourself the added kick of engaging with nature. Once you’ve practiced this a few times you can use it any time that you feel you need a moment of calm or to take a pause and reset yourself.

1. Begin standing tall and proud, both feet firmly planted on the floor or ground.
Take your first inhale and close your eyes, bringing your awareness to your body and focusing attention onto the present moment.
Exhale.
2. Inhale and bring all of your awareness to the soles of your feet. Feel the pressure, the sensation of your feet against the earth.
Exhale and feel your awareness move through the rest of your body in a rush.
3. Inhale and bring all of your awareness to the palms of your hands. Feel the all of the delicate, sensitive nerves of your palms and fingers firing.
Exhale and feel the pure power and confidence, the potential that exists in your hands.
4. Inhale and place your hands over your heart, what do you feel?
Exhale and give your heart a reassuring and loving hug with your powerful hands.
5. Inhale, relax your arms by your sides and float the corners of your mouth into a smile.
Exhale, find your feet, find yourself and gently open your eyes.
